Student Academy of Audiology

As a current active member, I attend meetings to learn more about opportunities to participate in volunteer events, research labs, etc. This club allows me to connect with other students with similar interests and experiences.

National Student Speech Language and Hearing Association (NSSLHA)

As an active member for two years and as the treasurer of NSSLHA, I participated in volunteer events such as recruiting events and donation drives, attended guest lectures, and worked with other board members to organize events and help members connect with each other.

Hands that Hear Club

As an active member of Hands that Hear I participated in volunteer events and attended meetings to learn the basics of American Sign Language and discuss Deaf culture.

California Tigers Club

As the Philanthropy Chair, Secretary, and a founding board member, I organized volunteer events, participated in group hangouts, and connected with students from California to help them in their transition to college. California Tigers is the first geographically based club at LSU and is designed to be a home away from home for incoming students.

Research

Cleft Lip and Palate Presentation

This presentation discusses cleft lip and palates, specifically the population most affected, the areas of communication or swallowing affected, the social impact, and myths or stereotypes. I completed this presentation as my final project for my Introduction to Communication Disorders course.

Introduction to Linguistics Final Research Paper & Presentation

This pilot study explores the differences in the production of the vowel /É™/ between adult individuals with no hearing loss and adult individuals with hearing loss. Although I found no correlation between the two, I improved my primary research skills, ability to recruit and interact with participants, and analyze results.
